Posted on February 23rd, 2009 No commentsThe T-800 Terminator is a fictional character portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger — a cyborg, initially portrayed as a programmable assassin and military infiltration unit. “The Terminator” character first appeared in the 1984 movie of the same name, directed and co-written by James Cameron, and its sequels.

Spykee

Controlled by computer locally or over the internet, the owner can move the robot to various locations within range of the local router, take pictures and video, listen to surroundings and make sounds through the microphone or through various built-in recordings.

Unimate
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 No commentsUnimate was the first industrial robot, which worked on a General Motors assembly line in New Jersey, in 1961. It was created by George Devol in the 1950s using his original patents. Devol, together with Joseph Engelberger started Unimation, the world’s first robot manufacturing company.

Leonardo’s robot
Posted on February 23rd, 2009 No commentsLeonardo’s robot refers to a humanoid automaton designed by Leonardo da Vinci around the year 1495. The design notes for the robot appear in sketchbooks that were rediscovered in the 1950s. It is not known whether or not an attempt was made to build the device.
