Elektro is the nickname of a robot built by the Pittsburgh-based Westinghouse Electric Corporation in its Mansfield, Ohio facility between 1937 and 1938. He also appeared as “Thinko”, in a 1960 film, Sex Kittens Go to College.

BIG TRAK / bigtrak was the programmable electric vehicle created by Milton Bradley in 1979. It was a six-wheeled tank with a front-mounted blue photon beam headlamp, and a keypad on top.

France successfully tested its first military UAV called SIDM (Système Intérimaire de Drone MALE) in Afghanistan – military’s favorite playground these days. This highly autonomous all-weather surveillance UAV is based on IAI Eagle-1 platform and can stay in the air for up to 24(!) hours at the altitudes 5-8km and recon in 1000km range.
